"Who controls the past controls the future; who controls the present controls the past." Orwell-- The US is probably moving toward becoming a heavily controlled Rightist state. This blog is an effort to document how that happened.

MKULTRA: Government Mind Control Experiments, Part 5

There is an emphasis on training children, and some who came through the program speak of experiments in time travel, which began at the Philadelphia Navy Yard in World War II and were moved to Montauk. There is no way of evaluating this time travel part of their stories. Maybe it was planted disinformation. The 1943 Philadelphia Experiment involved making a vessel, the Eldridge, vessels invisible to other vessels, but it resulted in driving the crew of its experimental vessel insane. It is said that so much energy was used that some sailors were fused to the hull. Folklore has it that the vessel was teleported several hundred miles and came to rematerialize in another dock. Invisibility was connected to time travel, and it is hypothesized that these experiments were continued at Montauk. Some “volunteers” there were asked to enter portals in time. There also evidence that there were experiments in developing the powers of mental telepathy. The Phoenix projects are supposedly grounded in the new physics, which is somehow dependent upon biological studies. Survivors claim that Delta Force people are subjected to training pioneered at Montauk. Some psychics were trained there and now work for the CIA or MI6. It is believed that thousands of people have been programmed as “sleeper” agents of one sort or other. By the 1980s, it was possible to track through official records the fact that specific point earthquake programs were underway at Montauk. However, in the late 1970s . Zbigniew Brzezinski was saying that several nations had this capacity/

At Tulane, Dr. John Lilly pioneered in the use of electric shock and had great success implanting electrodes in the heads of animals. As far as we know, he used electricity on humans without implanting electrodes in their brains. Some think the funding for the Montouk Project came from a Nazi gold train that disappeared in allied territory and whose disappearance baffled Patton.

For a time, mind control included experiments in broadcasting non-ionizing radiation to large populations. However, most research centered on what people could be induced to do when they were in trances. Accepted doctrine was that people would not do anything in a trance they were otherwise not disposed to do, but the researchers thought that this did not apply to people in deep trances.

There was also a hope of creating "sleeper" assassins, who could be triggered by hearing a certain word or phrase. The psychiatric investigators seemed to believe that using occult symbolism and the like proved very useful in programming minds. There is some evidence, including testimony before Congress, about the use of radiation exposure to control behavior. At one time or another, 44 colleges and universities experimented for the government. In addition a number of hospitals were used. The work was segmented among so many research providers to prevent anyone from getting an overall view of the project. Captain John Mc Carthy, who ran the CIA assassins team that operated out of Siagon during the Vietnam war, told a friend that MKULTRA was an acronym for “'Manufacturing Killers Utilizing Lethal Tradecraft Requiring Assassinations'".

The mind control experiments provided techniques for assessing Soviet defectors. In 1964 the CIA began testing Soviet defector KGB Colonel Yuri Senko He was able to tell where the bugs were in the US embassy in Moscow and provided other information that turned out to be correct. The testing went on for three and a half years.

Experimenters
The Monroe Institute outside Charlottesville is either a CIA front or CIA proprietary operation engaged in MK research. Bob Monroe has written books on out of body experiences. Other people involved in MK research are retired army General Albert Stubblebine and Colonel John Alexander . The general has claimed that an enlisted man under his command was able to “fire” or power a computer in Augsburg, Germany. Alexander is at Los Alamos National Laboratory and is interested in ways to enhance the performance of soldiers. Jack Houk has hosted a number of spoon bending parties for people in this field. Rima Leibow. Is a psychiatist and close friend of the general who studies trauma associated with alien abduction. For six years her meetings have been closed to the public.

Another important site was Cornell Aeronautical Laboratory, which was later absorbed by Calspan Advanced Technology Center of Buffalo, which worked on artificial intelligence and mind control. Doctors with that firm also experimented with mind chips and eventually bioengineering. Veridan Corporation took over that firm in 1997, and that firm was later absorbed by General Dynamics.. When Timothy McVeigh left the Army he went to work for Burns Security and was sent to guard Calspan. That facility was used for electronic warfare technique and had a substantial energy shock tunnel and various facilities for radio waves. He claimed that the army had implanted a telemetry chip in rear during the Gulf War and that he had been recruited “the major” for membership in a special assassinations team. The mysterious major and two other military men contacted Timothy shortly before the bombing, according to his cellmate. Roger Moore, the gun dealer McVeigh and Nichols, robbed had been a CIA contractor in the 1980s. . Its probably all coincidental, but the fact is that the military has been implanting chips.

George "Esty" Estabrooks, head of the Colgate Psychology Department, was a strong advocate of hypnotizing soldiers. He once secretly hypnotized two friends, convincing them that the British prime minister had just arrived. He burned his research diaries and refused to discuss his government sponsored activities. However, he once hinted that he was involved producing hypno-programmed couriers and people with split personalities. Psychiatrists influenced by his theories and active in mind control experiments were William Kroger, Louis West, Martin Orne, and H.J. Eysenck . Dr. West was a friend of Aldous Huxley, who combined LSD with hypnopsis. West was an Air Force major and became chair of the UCLA psychology department.

Sidney Gottlieb joined the CIA in 1951 and eventually became head of the CIA’s technical services division and interested himself in many matters, including developing a biotoxin for Patrice Lamumba’s toothbrush, and brought the deadly material into the Congo himself. He was considered an odd genius and a “wild man” who loved field work. On another occasion, he mailed a lethal handkerchief to an Iraqi colonel. HE inserted poison into a cigar that someone was to give Fidel Castro, and he put poison on the inside of a wetsuit that was to go to Castro. Dr. Gottlieb experimented with LSD on himself and on unwitting subjects, including colleagues. One colleague, Dr. Frank Olson, jumped out of a New York City window after consuming a spiked drink. Eventually, President Gerald Ford apologized to Olson’s family and there was a $750,000 settlement, which did not prevent litigation directed against Gottlieb. He has been called the CIA’s real “Dr. Strangelove.” Severe stammering plagued Gottlieb. An American artist , Stanley Milton Glickman,, accused Gottlieb in court of spiking his wine with LSD in Café Speciale in Paris. It was claimed that Gottlieb used the cover as a waiter to accomplish this. The accuser identified him by face and club foot. LSD and many other drugs were used to get people to reveal their deepest secrets. Scientists who reported to him administered LSD to prisoners at Bien Hau prison in South Viet Nam. Homeless men in New York City received the drug, and it is said that one of them was kept on LSD for 77 days, continuously. In 1972, upon orders of Richard Helms, Gottlieb destroyed the records of his mind control experiments. But he missed about 150 boxes in a CIA archive. in Gottlieb was granted immunity in 1977 before he testified before Congress about his activities. He spent his last years seeking religious and spiritual understanding—embracing Zeb Buddhism, running a commune, treating dying AIDs patients, and dealing with litigation that grew out of his work for the government. He owned a small farm near Culpeper, Virginia, where he raised Christmas trees, corn, and goats. He had a log cabin there with no running water. . It was not far from Mount Pony, a hardened facility, 140,000 square foot Continuity of Government site until 1992. It has been speculated that the only high CIA official not briefed on these experiments was John McCone, who would have objected to the abuse of children.

Gottlieb’s protégé in these programs was Dr. John Gittinger, a psychologist. One of his tasks was to study the conversations and activities of the “johns” who patronized a CIA brothel in San Francisco. The girls were given “chits” for the nights they worked, and these were redeemed by releases from jail when they were arrested. He developed a Personality Assessment System that was supposed to predict how people would react in certain situations. He advised the White House on how Nikita Khrushchev would react to certain pressures when he visited the US. He was a genius in accurately assessing people, but made a complete fool of himself before a Senate Committee in 1977 when he tried to defend the use of prostitutes to drug johns for experimental purposes.
